“A woman needs a lover, not a husband”
what women don’t realize is that a ‘lover’ in her man, cannot remain as a ‘lover’ in the role of a husband because
Lover and Husband are two different archetypes of men that they never meet.
What will happen when her husband is in such a respectful post in the society and practicing the same bureaucracy at home. Or
What, when a man leads a society, his public-life-behaviour entered unconsciously in private life,
Then what?
The fate of his wife will end in infidelity.
Women want just love, nothing else, the status they look for, while choosing a mate is just for their children, If there is no love from the husband, initially she walks off only from him mentally and searches for a new lover (not for a new husband).
She just expects a lover from her new man
But her-lover mentality will be in possessing her.
A new lover never knows how to separate, her-from-her previous life i.e. from her previous husband and children coz she really lived with them truly and the sample of their true love is their children’s.
Here Anna struggles to get away from the previous husband and children because her life with them was true once. This new life with her lover is nothing but her double, initiating her to search for a lover, only for love.
Men never understand women because they are not materialistic to be understood. Women always want to be loved, that’s why they are more attracted to strangers than to their male friends.
Women always want love in spite of their secured luxury life. If true love is missing, the husband will be considered as invisible to their life.
Here Anna doesn’t want to leave her husband from the beginning because he is Mr. Perfect. In short, she wanted to have an affair with her lover and at the same time want to continue her previous life parallelly, that is not possible in the structure of the society. In primitive society such acts attract the death penalty but later date divorce.
Any new lover will not suffice to the needs of a married woman with childrens because her priority is not understandable. Her mind searches for the missing pieces in the puzzle of her present dual life. That missing piece sometimes she her-selves never knows what she wants? She cannot explain it to a new lover.
Normally, a common solution in affair, it will lead to suicide, that is the want of society. Why?
When society was formed they brought in the concept of marriage to avoid confrontation or fight for mates. Once a woman and man married they are recognized as family. If anyone goes out of marriage either as separation or divorce then the society drops its responsibility on correcting their life. They can live as they want but no respect for them and their new children.
A society wants a man one who is too good in his private life to lead the society, not the other way.
A leader is respected, how he carries his personal life with his family. if his wife leads to infidelity then he loses the respect of the society. That’s why Mrs Anna’s husband disturbed though he never bothered about her new relationship.
If you are a rebel to the structure of society. Then everyone from the society will cast a stone on you and
As a woman you can live inside your house because society is least bothered about you. But don’t expect you will be allowed to live your previous prestiges social life. Here Anna attempts and fails..
You never gain respect from society irrespective of your money and fame.
What the author was trying to do is to find a solution for a woman who lived her life freely without respecting the culture.
Whether there is any pattern where she can fit in to live peacefully.
But the author understood there is no way, why?
Your effort for finding the solution will have to be found by taking the inner-rules of the society.
Here Society condemns such behaviour…
